On My Own

"Pretending he's beside me. All alone, I walk with him till morning. Without him, I feel his arms around me...And when I lose my way I close my eyes and he has found me." - On My Own, Les Miserables

Well, Tyler's gone, so I have the house to myself for a bit. It's a happy/sad. Happy because I'll have the car to myself and get the apartment all clean with no interference. Sad because, well, he's gone and I don't get to see/be with him for awhile. :( Time for some movies and girl time! Oh yeah, I also have to get the spare room ready for when my parents come in a few weeks :)

Thursday Tyler took me out to dinner at our favorite little Italian place. It was a nice change since we don't eat out all that much. Friday Tyler left (sad day). Then today, I went to a Flea Market in the morning with a neighbor. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything :( . Ah well. Now I'm watching another neighbor's precious little Yorkie, Radley, while they're on a vacay. He's so cute! I'll be sure to put up some pics soon.  How's everyone else's weekend thus far?

Yup, I'm THAT Girl. Are you?

Yesterday I saw a this post on Neely's blog (A Complete Waste of Makeup), and today it was posted on Cait's blog (Fit, Fierce and Fabulous). So, I finally decided I needed to join in on the fun! I'm that girl who...
  • is a huge lover of TV and movies (I may watch too many...)
  • loves traveling the world
  • loves a good bottle of wine
  • is obsessed with anything that has to do with weddings
  • has to have covers on at night
  • would sometimes rather stay in then go out (sometimes going out is fun, but usually I'm down for wine, hubby/friends, a good couch/chair and watching a movie or playing a game)
  • loves to wear dresses
  • doesn't always use correct grammar or puncuation (my blog, my rules :P hehe)
  • tries to plan out things in advance, but it doesn't always work
  • still gets carded at rated R movies and buying alcohol
  • is learning how and trying to be a better cook and homemaker
  • loves shoes, but dislikes her own feet
  • enjoys people
  • that quotes movies/tv with her husband
  • loves saying the word husband/hubby
  • tries, along with her husband, not to say their embarrassing nicknames for each other in public
  • loves food
  • will sometimes sing loudly with the radio/ipod in the car
  • loves to shop
  • doesn't like going to the doctor or dentist, but likes to be healthy and have nice teeth (difficult I know)
  • is trying not to be a pushover (or people pleaser) any more
  • likes history and politics (usually, I do NOT enjoy political ads...terrible...)
What girl are you?

Pet Peeve

So this weekend while watching Office Space for the first time, I was like, "omg, they're filming in Texas! I bet it's Dallas...right off the 75." THE 75? THE??? Oh lord. I'm turning in to a Californian officially now. (I've lived there for about 4 years and have the license). Why the use the definite article in front of their freeways I'll never know, but they do. After I said the 75, my eyes got really big and Tyler just started laughing at me and said I'm turning into a nice little Californian ha. Sigh. Oh, and in case you were curious, Office Space was filmed in Austin.

And here's my pet peeve...people yelling at waiters/waitresses, especially when they're speaking English for you in a non-English speaking country. Really people?! You're just embarrassing yourselves, well, and Americans in general. Please don't do this.
Unfortunately this happens a lot where I live. I try and speak German, and if I can't figure something out, I'm nice about it. It could also be a personality thing, but listen, some people are just plain RUDE. It really makes me uncomfortable and embarrassed for them. And you wonder why some people hate Americans? ha. Thus I digress. Happy Tuesday everyone.

Weekend re-cap

So I re-did the design/layout. The hubby says he's going to FINALLY help me make this little blog look better, woot! This design is just because I was bored with the old one and I felt a change was needed sooner rather than later.
Friday I went out to a birthday party for a girl I met in SNAPS class. It was really fun! Just the gals...got dinner/drinks at a steak place, then went to this crazy club. It was fun, but I'm not sure if I'd go back. ha.
A friend and I waiting for the bday festivities to begin :)

Saturday, Tyler and I had a lazy day...watched TV and movies and just hung around the house. Always nice to do. That night we also polished off 2 bottles of wine...whoops! haha. Oh how I love wine.
Sunday, today, well, it was kind of another lazy day. We did make a list of things he/we need to get done before he leaves for like 2 weeks. Ugh. Oh the Army. Such a love/hate relationship haha.

How was everyone else's weekend?

Motivation

Yesterday I got in a great hour workout, just cardio, but still good. It's really what I need. I was so proud of myself. I hadn't really worked out in awhile do to the cold/allergy thing and all. I mean, I tried to take walks, but that would even tire me out and/or make me cough. Finally I could do it without getting super tired or coughing. woot!
I haven't been really inspired to blog lately, not really sure why...just not in the mood. I feel as if I have nothing to write about at the moment, that, and no one really reads this anyway so why bother? But it shouldn't matter how many people read this, I should just do this because I want to. Thus, I will keep going.
I've been so lazy ever since I've gotten back from the states, well, yesterday I did clean a lot and get a workout in (our apartment looks greats btw :p), but I ended up falling asleep on the couch at like 6 for like 30 minutes or so. Haha.

Then I couldn't get to sleep til like after 2 am. ugh. And to make matters worse, I kept snacking.
Oye. Snacking late as night is terrible for you. What's wrong with me? I need more motivation or something. ha.
As the picture above says, today, I'm trying to stay motivated. I did sleep longer than intended and have had a lazy morning, but hopefully the afternoon will bring better results. I also need to stop watching True Blood.

It's one of those shows that's kinda bad, but you have to keep watching and I'm addicted haha.

How's everyone else doing today? How do you stay motivated?

Back in the swing of things

So after a weekend of recovering from jet-lag/a cold allergy thing (lots of sleep this weekend haha) and going to dinner with friends who are ETSing, its back to the swing of things here in Germany. For those of you who don't know, when you ETS, it means you get out of the army. So it's a happy/sad. I will miss them, but I'm so happy that they're going home and starting a "new" life together.
Today was lots of cleaning and laundry. Also got a nice long walk in there, always a good thing. I could tell my allergies were still acting up a bit, because I was tired and coughing when I got back haha...whoops.
Anyway, how's everybody else doing on this fine Monday? Any big plans for the week? Hope you have a great day! Sorry this is such a boring post, but ya know, happens sometimes. :)

Happy Days :)

Ok, it's been awhile, and I apologize for this, but there has been A LOT going on. Thursday was Tyler's and my 2 year anniversary, so we spent it where we got married, at Angel's stadium in Anaheim, CA, watching the Angels kick some Mariner ass, haha.
Friday I picked a friend up from the airport, picked up my wedding dress and got ready for the "wedding" on Sunday. Saturday we had a rehearsal in the morning (because there was a wedding at the location that night), and then had a lovely brunch at a local country club.
Some of the people at the Rehearsal Brunch. Look at all the rainbow colors! hehe
This past Sunday, I got to re-marry the man of my dreams, my hubby, Tyler, in Our Celebration of Marriage. It was so much fun! Everyone looked great, it went basically without a hitch, the food was amazing, the pie was delicious and everyone looked like they had a good time. We also lucked out and got some furniture for free! The company who rented the furniture to the couple who had a wedding there the night before,  forgot to come and pick it up, so I could use it. Win. At this beautiful outdoor location, not only did we have lots of food a drink (lots of wine of course), we had a great DJ and lawn games. Yup, you heard me right, we had lawn games...croquet, horse shoes and corn hole (aka bean bag toss). I didn't tell many people about this (just family), because I wanted to be a surprise, even for the wedding party. People loved them! If you have an outdoor location with some space, some games might just be the thing you're looking for.I finally got the day I had dreamed about for so long. I got to walk down the aisle, have dances, wear a gown etc. It was one of the happiest days of my life. :)
Anyway, here are some pictures via friends and family from that day. Professional pics should be available in like 2 weeks! Enjoy. :)
Wedding Party
Here I come! hehe

Kiss
Apparently something was funny in the ceremony haha.

Father/Daughter Dance
Parents :)
First Dance. :)

I felt good in my dress until I saw a few pics of how unforgiving my it was. I couldn't wear spanx, etc. because you could see the lines, yes, even the ones that were seamless. Maybe I just should've worn them anyway. I thought that I looked pretty good, but some pics I feel I look like a fat cow or pregnant. I'm not either, though it would be interesting to find out what people think of me, like, do people consider me to be a "bigger" person? I know everyone said I looked gorgeous, beautiful, etc., but I just wonder, ya know? No, I am not fishing for compliments here...ha; I'm just a HORRIBLE critic of myself. Who isn't though? Well, I'm one of the worst I know. Le sigh. Ah well. I did get angry that all my working out and eating better apparently didn't pay off. Ok, ok. I guess it did, because I learned to enjoy working out. Sorry to vent, I know I did look beautiful, and I did love that dress. :)
Saturday night, my throat started to hurt, but on Sunday, I was able to ignore it for the most part until we got to the hotel Sunday night. Oh man. My nose started acting CRAZY. Ugh. Of course. Worst part is, I still have it! I think it started as an allergy thing, but now is more of a cold. Ugh. So, it's Wednesday night, and I think I'm still jet-lagged. Also this cold thing doesn't help with the energy level.

Happy Anniversary

To me! Well, Tyler and I. Today, we have been married two years, and I can hardly believe it. Man how time has flown. And in 3 days, we're having our celebration of marriage. SO EXCITED!

Sorry that I've been a little MIA since I've gotten back to the states, it's just, there's so much to do for the celebration, people to see...this just gets pushed aside. Sigh.
So, to catch you all up...Friday I got to see/hang out with dear friends at a birthday dinner. Saturday I checked out the wedding location one last time with my coordinator and mother-in-law, then I went shopping at the outlets with some friends. Sunday I did lots of wedding stuff, getting ready for the 4th, and went to dinner with a friend. Monday was the 4th, so the Berry's had their 3rd annual bbq potluck function. Always a good time. I also got my dress fitted and bustled.
Tuesday Tyler's Aunt was still in town, and their cousin/uncle came to visit. We went out to brunch and saw Super 8. LOVED that movie.
Wednesday I did my hair trail, went to the caterer, ran errands, did wedding stuff...ya know.
Today, as I said above, is Tyler's and my anniversary. :). To celebrate we're going to and Angels game with the family haha.

Most of my time has been spent doing wedding things and trying to see friends and family. I was in kinda a bad mood yesterday because I was so stressed. Ah well. Happens.
Hope everyone had a good 4th! :)

Guess who's back...back again...

Sorry I haven't posted since Monday, it's just, I've been getting ready for my trip back to California. Guess what everyone? I'm here! Wonderful, beautiful, sunny California. :)
On the way from Germany to the US, Tyler in I were in the very middle of the middle row...of course. Ugh. Ah well. Once we landed in DC, we had an hour and a half to make our connection to California. Should be enough time right? HA!  After customs and what not, Tyler and ran to the gate, because it took about an hour and 15 minutes to do all this. Once we got to the gate, we were told the door was closed. WHAT?! We tried to argue that we still had like 8 minutes, but there was no hope. So, we went to customer service, and they could book us on the next flight which was an hour and a half later. Once we got to California, Tyler's mom and dad were there to greet us. Then, we got our bags, got some In-n-Out, and were on our way. It was a VERY long day...we were awake for over 24 hours, but hey, we made it.
Yesterday, we ran some errands with Tyler's mom, hung out with his sis, and then went wine tasting with the family. Then we got home around 9pm, and Tyler and I realized that we were still tired from the day before. Ugh. Jet-lag can be a bitch haha.
Wednesday was a dear friends birthday, so we're going over to her place tonight to celebrate. :) I can't wait to see my friends!
Hope everyone has a happy Friday!
