Where is this Going?

Apparently I fail at scheduling posts. My one post that was supposed to be up on 4/19 didn't post..I fixed the problem, and it finally posted yesterday. Though, it says it posted on the 19th...confused? Me too.

Anyway, I know I've been spotty with posts, but I'm really trying to figure out this whole work vs. play balance. I will get there...eventually.
I'm also, (as I have been doing a lot lately) trying to evaluate what I want to do with this blog. I know, I know, I've been writing about this a lot, but I could really use some pointers. I like writing about my life with Tyler, travel, weddings, and well, whatever I feel like. Sometimes I feel like I need more of a focus, what do you guys think?

I guess I should really just do what I want to do, but it can be hard to put yourself out there. What if people don't like what you're posting about? What if you're posts/blog aren't as good as other peoples' posts/blog? I guess what I'm really looking for is, advice and direction. :)

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all are having a great day

Thoughts for Thursday

Hello friends! Happy Thursday to ya!
So, Monday afternoon at work, say around 3/3:30, my computer freezes. No big deal, right? You just have to reboot. Yeah, my hard drive crashed. Luckily, since I had only been working there a week, there wasn't too much information on there. The next morning, I had to get a loaner computer...a tiny little laptop...nice for home, not so great for work. I finally got my computer around noon. Well, it wasn't my old computer...mine was dead. They had to give me a new computer already! Sigh. Ah well, at least I have a computer that works now!
For the rest of this week, I think we should all take these words into consideration...

The Start of Something New

Source: google.co.il

I finally started my job! AHHHH! I was stressed, nervous, anxious, excited...everything. And guess what? I still am. Let's now add overwhelmed to the pot. But, I will persevere and power through this! My boss said I'm doing well and already ahead of where she'd thought I'd be. I just started Monday, which is why you haven't heard from me in awhile. Boy, was I overwhelmed. I had many stressful moments over the week, but somehow, I got through it. I think I'm going to like this job.
I had a realization at work that this is now my life..I get up, get ready, go to work, work, and drive home. It's such a weird feeling that I'm finally working again. There's a lot to learn, but I think I can do it. I just need to get into a good schedule/routine. I need to figure out when I work out, when I clean, when we need to do laundry, etc. I know this will all come in time, but I wish it could hapen sooner rather than later.

For this job, I'm going to travel which is cool. I know it will be hard, but I think I can do it! :D

How do you feel when you start a new job?
How long does it take you to feel comfortable?
Do you get realizations and freak outs at work too?

Easter Celebrations

Easter. "...celebrates Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, is Christianity's most important holiday" (via). This is the way  I was brought up...Easter was a religious holiday. Of course, we did Easter egg hunts, took pictures with the Easter bunny, and got Easter baskets and candy, but first and foremost, it was a religious holiday. My family would get up way to early to go to our church's sunrise service (this was at about 7am). Afterwards, we would have breakfast at the church, go home and get our Easter baskets, and do an Easter egg hunt.Of course we would have a delicious Easter lunch or dinner. Mmm, sounds so good right now!
Tyler's family would go to church in the morning, then get together with extended family. While with his family, they would get their Easter baskets and candy, do an Easter agg hunt, and have a delicious lunch. Must be nice to have your family so close together. My extended family is spread out; we're in like 5 different states!
Well, Tyler and I don't really have any  of our own Easter traditions yet, seeing as we don't have any kids. Not that is really an excuse, but I digress. Last Easter (our first Easter by ourselves), we made crepes and had a nice day at home. This year, Tyler's birthday happens to be on Easter, so it's a double celebration! His mom is so excited to have him home on his birthday, that she wanted to host an Easter celebration at their house. So, we're going to have brunch and dinner with his family and some family friends.  It's going to be a full, fun day!
If I were hosting the Easter celebration, I would be sure to have some great decoration and food! Here are some things that are inspiring me for Easter:

We'd also have to have brunch or dinner food, depending on the party. I'm thinking for dinner, something like ham or lamb. This is making me hungry, I need to stop.
I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter! :)

What a Day

Man, what a day today! I started off the day at the DMV (ugh, at least I made an appointment), found out there were crazy tornadoes in my home town (Dallas), ran errands for Easter/Tyler's birthday with the mother-in-law, and got Instagram for my android phone. That's right friends, there is now instagram for those of us who have Android! :D

I'm thanking God this evening for keeping my family safe through all of the craziness, but  remembering and praying for those who were not as fortunate.

I'm so excited for Easter/Tyler's birthday. I think it's going to be a great day with his family. A long day, but fun, with lots of delicious food and good company.
I also can't wait for Tyler to get his birthday presents! He has some really good ones coming! :D I would tell you what they are, but if I did, it would be the day he decided to read my blog...haha.

I hope you all had a good day. Stay safe friends!

All Around Good Time

I think our party went well last night! It was a nice gathering of friends and some family. We had delicious food, great wine, and good company. All in all a fun time. Unfortunately, some people's allergies started acting up (stupid cat). Oh, yes, we have a cat...well, it's not ours, it's Tyler's sister's, but since she lives with us, we have to deal with it. It's cute...sometimes...

I made two cheesecakes (one boysenberry and one regular with a cream cheese topping) and pineapple wrapped with bacon. All three of those thing were delicious, not that I have a bias or anything...haha. Tyler made chicken wings (a recipe he found online that consisted of soy sauce, garlic, and honey). Man, were his wings good! However, my Pyrex is still soaking...grrr. We also provided sweet potato pop chips, chips and salsa, bread, meatballs, cheese wrapped with meat, and some beer and wine. We had some friends bring food as well: yummy vanilla macaroons (I really could just keep snacking on those things), veggie pizza, fruit kebabs (such good fruit!), and blue cheese guacamole. Everything was so delicious. I really need to start taking more pictures, because everything was just so good!
It looked great too!

Tyler and I have this thing where we hate being hungry at parties, so, we try and provide people with a lot of food and drink. That way, if you didn't have a chance to eat dinner, you can be satisfied, but if you just want a snack, you have great appetizer options to choose from and snack on.
Some of the wine for the party.

Well, I hope everyone is having a nice and relaxing Sunday. Besides the cleaning up, I know we're having a very relaxing day. :) Happy Palm Sunday everybody!
