Time to Review

Ok, last I left you it was last Saturday and I ad just gone to Bamberg. Last Sunday, Tyler had to leave for another couple weeks of training, and my parents and I went to Buchenwald Concentration Camp. Concentration camps are always interesting to me...sad and emotional, but very interesting. This one was also in a beautiful area of Germany.
Monday, my parents and I were off to Munich. Now, I've been to Munich twice already, but I feel like there's always something new to do there. We stayed and had adventures in Munich until Wednesday, and then made our way to Heidelberg. LOVED Heidelberg. The castle ruin was SO cool, and its a small town feel with being a bigger city. Warning, it is pretty touristy. We had some nice walks around the city and river...even took a river cruise! Coming back home on Thursday was an adventure! My GPS likes to take you on the most direct route, so we ended up on this small, scary, crazy one lane mountain road with two way traffic. Ugh. Thank God my dad was driving.
Friday, we relaxed, my parents did laundry, my dad and I did yard work hehe. Good day.
Saturday, we went to Wuerzburg. I've done basically everything there, but I still love it. So pretty.
Today, we're going to go eat breakfast and walk around our little city. Even though basically everything is closed on Sundays, its still fun to walk around.
I'll update again soon and talk about our travels more once I have pictures (hurry up mom) haha. Have a blessed and happy Sunday!

Trip to Bamberg

Well folks, I finally made it to Bamberg. I've been trying to go since February when my SNAPS Class was supposed to go, but we ended up going to Wuerzburg instead. I LOVED Bamberg! Makes me wish Tyler was stationed there...it's so pretty. That, and it's a much bigger city then where we are haha. We explored the city by walking around and just going in to different places like churches. My dad had never seen old European churches like that, so he was excited. One of the churches we went in to was having an organ recital, which was cool and my mom LOVED. We had a big, delicious lunch at some restaurant near the river. It was a nice, fun and full day. Pictures to come (my parents took them hehe).
Happy Saturday!

Parents are coming!

Well, as the title says, my parents are coming for a visit tomorrow! This is my dad's first time to Europe...I was going to say out of the country, but I think he's been to Canada (lol). I'm pretty excited. :)
I got the spare room all nice and ready for them. I can't wait to start traveling all over Germany with them...should be a good time.
In other news, Tyler has to leave to go to the field for training in a few days. Bummer; But at least my parents will be here for some of it.

Also, I want to apologize for my accidental blog hiatus. I just, well, I've been getting things ready, and honestly haven't been that inspired to write. Not sure why, I just haven't. It happens to us all I guess. Hmm...maybe we could call this unforeseen hiatus writer's block...haha. Well, whatever it is, I hope I kick it soon. I miss writing. I guess I just need to get inspired!

Safe travels parents...see you in the morning! :) Happy Hump day everyone.

Bees suck.

So I was at a BBQ tonight, because all the guys got back from training. I set my coke aside while I ate, totally forgetting about the bees...well, after I finished my food I went over to get a sip of coke. I almost didn't because I was like, well, there's not much left, I could just forget it and get a new drink, but nono, I took a sip. Suddenly I felt something and a pain in my mouth spit and THERE WAS A BEE! A FUCKING BEE! Excuse my language. AND IT STUNG MY TONGUE!!!! Side-note, I have never to my recollection been stung by a bee or anything before. At first, people were like what?! I mean, all I really did was stick my tongue out and dance around and say, "a bee stung my tongue!" Tyler didn't believe me, but came over and I was like, OH SHIT! He quickly got the stinger out (was in less than a minute), took out his aid station keys and gave me some meds. He also watched to make sure I wasn't allergic, good news friends, I'm not. Also, pretty much all the guys at the bbq were medics, so they were all intrigued and kept checking up on me. Cute. My tongue swelled a little, but now is better but hurts like all heck. Yeah...stings and hurts a lot...but is also kinda funny? haha. Good story for later I guess.
In other news, Tyler and I got our outfits for Okberfest!!! He got lederhosen (with shirt to match me, shoes and socks). I of course got a dirndl. Pics to come! :)
Hope everyone had a happy Saturday.

It's almost been a week since I last blogged...WHAT?! Crazy. I never really meant to do that, it's just, well, I haven't been feeling inspired to write. I guess I get intimidated or embarrassed about some ideas I have. Or, I think I have a great idea then 5 other people blog about it, and they have 50 billion (subscribed) readers. Le sigh. OR they have a better idea then me, and I'm like, well, why didn't I think to write about that! haha. Oh me. I am trying to work on not being so self conscious about things, like for example, my blog, but sometimes it just happens. Working on it though.
So, Saturday I was going to drive two hours or so to pick up Tyler from his training and see him "graduate," but low and behold, he came home last night! It was a nice and welcome surprise! :)
Well, I know this was a short post, but I will be more creative tomorrow...I already have some things I'm working on :). Happy Thursday.

Already the weekend

If you haven't guessed from the above photos, I went shopping for dirndls today with my wonderful neighborson Casey. :). We didn't get any, because the hubbies want final approval haha. We found some SUPER cute ones, and I can't wait to show them to Tyler and get one for this years Oktoberfest.
Also, I know this is late, but it's ALREADY August?! What the?? My parents come in like two weeks. Woah. But, that also means Tyler comes home soon :)
No big plans for the weekend, just more of the same. What about you guys? Any big plans for the weekend? HAPPY FRIDAY!

Inspiration

I haven't been too inspired to write lately, not sure why, just haven't. Last night (I guess this morning) I started feeling nauseous. Oh no. I'm doing better this morning, but yikes, I HATE that feeling. Apparently a flu type bug is going around, so I need to be careful. Anyway, I'm slowly but surely working on the guest bedroom for when my parents come, but I'm having problems picking sheets and a duvet or quilt.

Wouldn't it be amazing if I could find that bedspread? It's so bright and cheery. I mean, I am working with a futon instead of a bed, but it should still look good and be comfortable. Any ideas on where I should go for sheets and bedding? Remember I'm in Germany lol.

Or maybe something like this? Sigh. I love Pinterest. :) I need to get inspired to write, to clean, to cook more. Well, last night I did make myself some steak. Usually Tyler cooks the steak, but I feel like I did a pretty good job. What do you guys do to get inspired? Any ideas for the guest room?

Coke and Orange Soda can mix?!

Let the deep cleaning begin! Since Tyler's away for a bit I get to DEEP clean without the worry of him messing it up as soon as he gets home lol. I also need to get the spare room ready for my parents :). I'm looking for a new duvet and I'm having problems. I don't want to spend THAT much money, but I also want it to look nice. I've been looking at IKEA, and I'll probably get something from there, but German sizes are different than American sizes. Sigh. Anyone have ideas?

Today, I started to clean, started thank you notes (yay?), got in a good work out and went to the German grocery store. Thrilling huh? haha. At the German grocery store, I FINALLY tried coke mixed with orange soda. I've been afraid because I hear very mixed reviews. I actually enjoyed it. At first it tasted a bit like medicine, but then, it was yummy. I recommend it.
Anyway, I digress. Happy Monday everyone!
