What to do Wednesday

Hello Friends! Happy Hump Day, hehe. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Tyler's Army buddy got here Friday evening and we went out for some delicious Sushi. Then, we came home, drank a lot of beer and watched movies. Good Friday night if ya ask me. I may have preferred to drink wine, but hey, what ya gonna do.
Saturday Tyler, myself, and his parents went to Spamalot. It's such a fun show! I loved it! Before we went to the show, we hung out in Hollywood and had a delicious dinner. After the show, we walked around came home and crashed. Tyler's friend was so tired from all of his traveling, that he enjoyed just coming back and watching some movies.
Sunday, I  helped with photo shoot. I got sun burnt, but it was still a good time. :)

Yesterday, I had a phone interview, and then was emailed some tests to take. The phone interview went well, but I only did ok on the tests. I hope they call me back, I would really enjoy working there. While taking the tests today, the staffing agency called me, and they got me an interview for tomorrow! Woohoo! It's doing temporary customer service calling for a shelving company, but ya know, I feel like I shouldn't be too picky at the moment. Thoughts?

Not only am I trying to decide/figure what to do with my life, I'm also trying to decide what this blog is for me. I enjoy writing, but do people care? Does it matter if people read this or care? I kind of do this for me anyway (and no, I'm not just saying that). I feel a blog is a great outlet for telling others about your life, ideas, projects, jobs, what you're selling, etc.
I mean, I do need to get on a better schedule, but do people want to read about my life and things I care about? Do I have a voice? Do I have a good writing style? Do I need to post more pictures? My questions could go on and on. But I digress. I'll figure it out, but advice, thoughts, ideas are always appreciated :).
Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you've had a great day!

Sometimes, I don't want to grow up

via
I need to work on my wardrobe. I feel as thought I need newer more adult/professional pieces that can be worn for work or play. I absolutely love plain t-shirts. Crew-necks, v-necks, scoop-necks, love them all! They so versatile...you can dress them up or dress them down, wear them to work or where them about town. The only thing is, I usually get them from cheap places such as Old Navy, Forever 21 and most recently, H&M. Because I get them from these places, they don't always last as long as I would like them too; they stretch out, fade, get holes quickly, etc. Actually, I take that back, the H&M ones are holding up fairly well. Sometimes, I'm afraid to order things online because its hard to know what size to get...I'm an odd shape. My boobs are HUGE and the rest of me really isn't THAT big.
One of my new favorite sites eShakti.com! Picture via
I also LOVE dresses, but I'm usually good at finding those, sometimes tailoring is involved, but it's worth it. What I am really in need of is tops. Any suggestions?

I also need to figure out what to do with my life, rather, what I WANT to do with my life. I won't bore you with another post about finding myself/my niche in life, but seriously...it's really starting to bug me. I can't even tell you what I want my "dream" job to be any more. I am seriously at a loss. I could totally see myself doing Pam's (now Erin's) job on The Office, at least for a little. Be a secretary, plan work events, etc. I could also see myself doing HR like Toby. (Sorry, I think I've been watching too much of The Office lately haha).

Tyler has been saying more and more that he can see me doing HR. Did I even study the right thing for that? I could also see myself being a wedding coordinator (and some other event planning) and working at a bridal salon. But then, I can kind of see myself in the entertainment industry doing PR, producing, casting or something. Too much to choose from, and no direction.
If you're interested, you can read more about it here and here.

Man oh man, sometimes I definitely don't want to grow up. Too much to do, to much to decide...Sigh. But then again, I like being this age...so much you CAN decide and do for YOURSELF, and so many different opportunities. :)

Oh me

Thursday I went in for Substitute Teacher orientation here on base. Not going to lie, I think it made me more nervous. We talked and went over some rules, then we had a tour of the school. I still have to finish some paperwork and meet with HR, but then I'll be good to go. Part of me is not sure if I actually want to go through with this. I mean, it's just subbing, but there are so many rules, things to remember...and I'm scared of teaching in general. ha. If I've ever taught, it's been with older kids/young adults or I've been the assistant, so I didn't teach. Needless to say, I'm scared. I mean, I'm up for a challenge, but I'm not sure if I feel right about it.

On a lighter note, I do have a funny/embarrassing story for you guys...you know when you're in the shower and realize you need more body wash, soap shampoo, etc.? So you get out, get the item and continue with your shower. How many times have I done this? A lot. Thursday morning as I was in the shower, I squeeze my body was and not enough comes out. Ugh. I'm going to have to get out and get my new one...great. I throw the old bottle on to the mat outside the shower, I can put it in the plastic recycling later, and get out to get the new bottle. Now see, what I didn't realize was that some of the body wash had gotten on the floor of the shower. So, when I go to get back in, I totally ate shit. Yup, that's right, I fell in the shower. Now, not to worry, it's a normal American tub shower...it's just a couple inches off the ground (we have a separate bathtub). Luckily I kinda caught my fall, so my left side and butt got most of it. Unfortunately for my butt, well, it landed on the old bottle and shattered the plastic lid...I have cuts on my upper butt...ugh. It hurt a lot. I'm actually still kind of sore. Right after it happened, I kind of started to cry, but then I was like, no, I need to get up, turn off the shower, check out the damage and continue showering. After all, I had to go to substitute teacher orientation. I think the best part of this was that I cut my butt and the fact that I got back in the shower. The shitty part is that I fell, hurt myself and was home alone. It's like a fear of mine coming true ahhh. Not to worry though, just some cuts and bruises. Ha. Oh me.
Well, I hope that story made you laugh. Makes me laugh now haha. :)  Have a Happy Saturday everyone! Any big weekend plans? Any funny/embarrassing stories to tell?

Me, Myself and Finding My Niche...

So, I may not have the greatest blog in the world, the most followers, the most thought provoking posts. So, not many people comment or ask me questions on here. So, I may not be the prettiest, the thinnest or the smartest. Someone is always better at me in any of the fields and many more. Someone is always better than me. I just need to find my niche, that thing or things I love and want to do and am good at. I know I'm good at talking to people and making "friends" or at least engaging people in conversation. Sometimes I wonder if all of the friends I have are friends. Do they care that I moved away? I know some do, and I miss them terribly.
Speaking of not being the thinnest person in the world, I love food, and maybe that causes some weight issues. I've never have been or never will be a skinny mini, it's just not my body type. This summer I was probably in the best shape I've been in a long time. Part of that is due to the fact we saved up some money, and I got a personal trainer. I wanted to learn how to workout more and better for myself, but just didn't know how and frankly, was embarrassed that I didn't know how to use half the equipment in the gym. And man oh man did this help! I finally am comfortable going to the gym and can get a good workout in. I also took some yoga and pilates classes, which I love, and those helped as well. I still use some of those workouts I did with my trainer, but now, I also use some of Jillian Michael's workouts. Man can she kick your butt!
When I was finally was reunited with Tyler in November (hadn't seen him in 8 months), man did I look and feel good! But, let me take you back to this past December/January when I started to get really anxious and depressed about Tyler being deployed. I didn't want to burden people with all my troubles, because even though family/friends would care, they wouldn't get it. Anyway, I started to gain lots of weight and not exercising as much, and finally, on the request of some friends, started to go to therapy. Therapy is also one of the best things ever, just so you're aware! But, these things are for another post. Well, after Tyler got back from being deployed, and had block leave, we went home for the holidays, and boy did I overindulge! I started to gain some weight back. Now, after struggling with my self again, I'm finally getting back in to shape. The point is, I've always had some body image issues, but am finally coming to terms with the fact if I just work out and eat smaller portions, I can look good :). Why sacrifice foods you love? Just try not to eat them as much and as big of a portion. Find a happy medium, because listen, there's NO WAY I'm giving up chocolate, bread, fries, etc. I just try not to have them as much, or if I do, I try to eat less than I used too. And as I said before, someone is always going to be prettier, thinner and more in shape than you, but who cares? You just need to be and love yourself.

I'm still looking for that thing I want to do/be. It's hard to deal with, because I see so many people struggling with the same thing or figuring it out. I wish someone could just come up to me, smack me and be like, "HEY YOU! You should do/be this!" and be done with it. Wouldn't that be nice? I enjoy traveling, wine, dogs, weddings, event planning (but mostly weddings haha), food, talking, writing/coming up with stories, entertainment, politics (secretly...gross I know), shopping, music, tv, movies, sometimes advertising/marketing...and well, just having fun. I think that about covers it. Now, what to do? Any ideas...I would love and am open to suggestions. I guess I just need to try more things for myself. Sigh. But again, suggestions/thoughts are welcome.
For recent college grads (and for some beyond), there's the question of "so what are you going to do with you life?" I mean, you get that question your whole life, but after high school/college, well, that's when the pressure is on. What do you want to be when you "grow up?" What are you plans? Do any of us really know? Sure, I have some friends and my husband who have known what they've wanted to be for awhile, and some who have just recently figured it out, but for the rest of us this question is a difficult, especially in this economy with lack of jobs.
But, I digress.Yes, people may have better blogs, more money, more friends, maybe they are prettier, are thinner/more fit than you, have a great career, etc. etc. The list can go on and on and on.  Maybe my weight struggles and how I am overcoming them can help someone. Maybe, hopefully someday soon, I will find my niche. But, until then, I leave you all with this...Love yourself, be yourself, trust yourself, have faith in yourself...
