Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Other than the car incident and some stress at work, this week wasn't so bad. The good news is, I made it through! I'm still trying to figure out this whole work and play balance. For example, I think of all of these great recipes and stuff to cook, but once I get home I have NO motivation. Any tips, tricks, or advice? And no, it's not because I don't like to cook, in fact, I'm learning that I can quite enjoy it.

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, or as I call it, Cinco de Drinko. Tyler had to work til about 6, then it was off to his sister's boyfriend's housewarming. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, I thought I should wear something, cute and colorful. I wore a royal blue frilly tank (Forever 21 a few years ago), coral shorts (American Eagle), black flip flops with gold trim (Love Culture), black earrings with colorful flowers (Forever 21 a few years ago).

Today is kind of a lazy day for me. Tyler's at work, so I ran some errands and did some cleaning, but now, I'm just sitting on the couch catching up on some TV. Delightful.
What are you all up to on this beautiful Sunday?
Any tips, tricks, or advice on how to get motivated to cook once I get home from work?
Happy Sunday Friends :)

Goals, Oscars, and Life

Hello friends! Happy Friday!

Let's review my goals for the week and how I'm doing, shall we?
This week I have some goals for myself:
1. Start a new workout routine (new chapter = new routine)
So far, I've been getting in to a good routine. I kinda strained a muscle in my glute/leg from working out, so I've just been easing myself in with some cardio and stretching. Seems to be helping a little bit.Today, I think I'm going to do some yoga.
2. Apply for more jobs (this includes temp agencies)
Sigh, I really hate this one, but I've applied to a few temp agencies, so, we'll see what happens!
3. Make delicious dinners ( I have 2 planned already :) )
Well, Tuesday, we went to Tyler's parents' for dinner since it was his aunt's birthday. Since his mom had left overs, we took them home, and that's what we had to dinner Wednesday. Thursday, we still had leftovers to eat, so I left well enough alone, and just heated those up! Tonight I was going to make lasagna, but I can't for the life of me find our ground sausage. We bought it Monday and put it in the freezer, where it went from there, I have no idea. Sigh. Guess I'm making that rosemary chicken linguine dish I saw in a cook book. I mean, that sounds delicious, but I was really feeling the lasagna.
4. Become better at creating blog titles (haha, this may take time)
Well, what do you think? haha...I think it could use some more work. Like I said, this may take some time....

So, I guess I didn't do too poorly on my goals for the week. What do you think? I'll be sure to fill y'all in on how the weekend goes.
This weekend is going to be a pretty relaxing one. We really don't have any plans. What?! All we have to do is decorate and get the apartment more put together, look for jobs, oh yeah, and watch the Oscars on Sunday. :D If you're new to this blog, you do not yet know of my deep Oscar obsession. It's bad. I have no idea why I'm so obsessed with them, but I've been this way since I was a kid. Which reminds me, I need to get my Oscar winner predictions ready to go! Guess I should get to that. Have a blessed day everybody!

Weekend Review

Last I left you it was Friday, Veteran's Day. Tyler was recovering from CQ and we had a wine and movie night. Good times.
Saturday, we had our good friends J and B come over for dinner. We made tri-tip with broccoli ad garlic mashed potatoes (mmm), and for dessert, I made cheesecake. This cheesecake looked A LOT prettier than the last cheesecake I made. Woohoo! Getting better! :). They were joking about how they need to come over once a week for dinner...made us feel pretty darn good about our cooking :)
Sunday is always our day of rest. Stores in Germany are closed, and we just liked to sit, relax, and watch TV. Sometimes we go for a walk or clean, but it's mostly a day for relaxing.

Before I leave this weekend review, how can I forget about the new game Skyrim. Tyler got it for his computer and he's been playing it sooooo much. I mean, it looks cool, but I'm just not a huge gamer. I played the Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon and stuff like that. haha. He says it's amazing if anyone is interesting in playing it.

  Have a great day everybody!

Monday, Tuesday...happy days?

This weekend was kind of lazy. We went and looked at TVs (yup, still don't have one..sigh), got some new lamps (2 new floor lamps to be exact), went grocery shopping...fun stuff. hehe. At least I felt semi-productive. Don't worry friends, even though we don't have a TV, we do keep up on our shows! We just have to watch everything on our laptops.
Monday I cleaned and did a bunch of laundry...yet, somehow I still have more, sigh. Today, I went with my neighbor and her boxer puppy to a friend's house (a girl I met in SNAPS class) to have a puppy play-date and socialize. It was a great way to start off a day. Puppies and friends? Man oh man. Then, I went with the other neighbor girls to a self help class on post. It literally lasted 15 minutes. Thank goodness. Plus, now I can get free light bulbs, paint, nails and such. Worth it, yes?

Tonight, Tyler and I made broccoli beef with white rice, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Sorry to disappoint, but the egg rolls and wontons were frozen, so we just heated them in the oven. Still delicious. I must say, we're getting pretty good at this whole cooking thing. Tyler is much better than me, but I'm learning...slowly, but surely. :)
