Days 28-20: Time to Finish Up

Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of
- The dark. Yes it's silly, but I'm terribly afraid of the dark.
- Heights or the fear of falling. I also hate the sensation of being dropped. Roller coasters are ok, because they go back up after a drop, but like the tower of terror, can't do that anymore. High ropes courses, attempted once and I fell off (fear realized). Repelling was fun, but I've done it like once. Heck, even driving on canyons/mountains scares me.

Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile
My dog Hushpuppy and I a few years ago. Love this dog! Miss her lots.

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss
My friends and family (and dogs) back home. Love and miss you guys.

Day 27 and life

Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member...

That's my sis! This is from her 20th birthday at Medieval Times (she is now 21 woot woot!). She's currently a junior in college and studying geology...crazy girl. :)

----------

Anyway, how is everyone doing?
I finally starting "working" for the girl scouts. I'm doing their PR. Sadly, it's not paid, but hey, experience and volunteering are both good things :)  Plus, I like the girl scouts; in fact, I used to be a Brownie.
I'm also waiting to see if I am going to be a substitute teacher. I've never really had a desire to teach, but I figure it's a job, and why not try it, right? I also am big on education and education reform, so why not start here? Not that I'll be a teacher later in life, but I'll do what I can now.

Thus, I digress...happy Wednesday!

Days 21-26: wishes, a favorite or two and love

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget
There are many things in my life I'm sure I wish I could forget, but would that make me the person I am without them? Who knows. Not really sure of one specific thing that I wish I could forget, so I'm going to move on...

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at
I wish I was better at a lot of things...I mean, I'm decent at many things, good or even great at some, but if I had to pick just one thing to be better at, I think it would be dancing. :)

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book
As you can probably tell, I’m not very good at the “favorite” questions. I dunno, for some reason I just don’t like to pick favorites all the time. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite books, but I’ll try and pick some I enjoy :)
"The Bible"…why? Well, being a Christian woman I like it and believe in it, but from a book perspective, I just think it’s a great collection of stories.
"Twelfth Night" - why? It’s hilarious and I do love me some Shakespeare
"Pride and Prejudice" - I do love me some Jane Austen. Strong female character, great love story…need I say more?
That's just a taste... :)

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change
See day 21...but I guess if I could change one thing it would be to not be as much of a pushover. Good news, I have been getting better...slowly.
Day 25 - A picture of your day
Image from Google Images
My day was full of cleaning and being lazy haha. I mean, I did just get back from a weekend trip...
Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you
I mean lots of things mean a lot to me...my life, my husband, my family and friends...Then I could go into the material stuff that means a lot to me...but eh.
But, if I have to pick one thing, it would be love...love of my husband, friends, family...love. What is life without love?
“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.”
- Oscar Wilde

Day 20: Travel

Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel

In my 23 years, the only two countries I have been to are India, Germany and Italy (just Rome though).

India was actually my FIRST experience out of the country (go big or go home). I absolutely loved it there! We went all over that country. Sure on my way to India I had emergency layover in Osaka, Japan and both on the way there and way back we had layovers in Taipei, Taiwan and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (on the way back it was a 10 hour layover in Kuala Lumpur so I actually saw some of the city), but do those really count? ehhh.

Now, I live in Germany and have been to several cities in the southern part. Still got to get to Northern Germany though.  The first time I came to Germany was in April 2009  (see picture left) to visit Tyler...who knew then that someday I would be living here?

In January of this year, Tyler and I went to Rome.  It's honestly one of the most beautiful and interesting cities I have ever been to in my life.
Anyway, there are many places that I want to visit...Prague (we're going THIS weekend...stoked!), Paris and other places in France, London, more places in Italy like Venice and Florence, more places in Germany like Berlin, Austria, Greece, China, Japan...the list could go on for days. I pretty much want to go everywhere. Right now, Tyler and I are working on tackling Europe...next stop, PRAGUE!

Day 19: Not really sure...

Day 19 - A picture and a letter

I honestly have no idea what to put for this... But here goes nothing...
When I was little, I wrote to the figure skater, Michelle Kwan.
via site
I really admired her when I was younger. Still do admire her in fact. Well, after I wrote the letter, I got an autographed picture of her in the mail. It was one of the happiest days of my young life. I still have that framed picture (though now I think it's in a box at my parents house).  Ah, the small things in life :)

Days 17 and 18: The I's have it! (Impact and Insecurity)

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently
via site
Yup, that's the German flag all right. Living in Germany has truly had the biggest impact on my life right now.

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity
I don't really have a picture for my insecurities...that would be kind of odd. I am a people pleaser (which I am working on) and I really just genuinely love people, but that means one of my biggest insecurities is having people not like me/ignore me. I am working on that, and there are some times I can handle not being liked and ignored, but sometimes it really just bugs the crap out of me and I get sad and insecure. Sometimes my weight/ stomach fat is also an insecurity. I know I'll never be a skinny girl, and I love my smile, hair, legs, eyes and boobs a lot, but sometimes, well, most of the time I wish I was thinner. Sigh. I do workout and try to eat right, but it's something I will always struggle with...carrying weight in my stomach.

Days 15 and 16: One thing off the Bucket List / Inspring people

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

via site
Go to the Oscars. Not just the red carpet (like I've done twice now), I want to attend.

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you
There are many people who inspire me, but I'm just use this time to talk about my mom. She inspires me because she was a great student, good wife and mother, has an amazing faith and pretty much supports me in whatever I do. Oh yeah, did I mention she's also had two stroke type things and breast cancer and is still with us today? (Don't worry, she's in the clear :)). Love you mom.

Day 14: Can't live a day without you...

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

Yes it's my wonderful husband, Tyler. I know, I know. I've been posting about him sooo much. Sigh. But it's true, I can't imagine my life without him.

Day 13: Music

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

I honestly don't have a favorite band or artist, I like too many different types of music to choose just one or even a couple.  I mean I listen to classical, rap, pop/top40, some country (nothing too twangy though...ew), hip-hop, Christian/Gospel, techno/dance, etc. I just like too much :)

Days 10 to 12: Love

I'm choosing to skip the next two days...
Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with AND Day 11 - A picture of something you hate. I don't like those two questions, so on to Day 12! :)

Day 12 - A picture of something you love

I love lots of things, and most of you are probably expecting me to post a picture of my husband, my family or my friends. But that's too obvious, and clearly I love them, so I'm going for something more non-traditional.  Wine and Dogs :)

Day 9: Yup I'm behind...oops...

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most
My husband and my parents...need I say more?

Day 8: Laughter is the best medicine

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh

My dear friends Robert,  Kevin and myself. Look at our faces and the fact that it's a picture of us taking the picture...enough said. Probably not my funniest picture, but boy does it make me laugh! :)

Days 6 and 7

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

I thought about picking someone like Kate Middleton.
via site
She's beautiful, gets to plan an amazing wedding and is becoming a princess!  Dream come true or what? haha. Then I thought to myself, well, that could be fun, but why not pick the most arguably powerful woman in the world, Hillary Clinton.

via site

Then I thought, well, she actually intimidates me and her job might be to stressful for me...haha. How about a singer I enjoy (i.e. Katy Perry, Taylor Swift)?
via site
Or, how about an actress I enjoy (i.e. Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Cate Blanchett)? Or should I go more classic and pick Queen Elizabeth II, Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn?
via site
via site

Or should I pick a man? Any man...being man man for a day would be an interesting experience. Then I thought to myself, whenever I imagine being an actress, a singer, a princes or whatever else I've wanted to be I imagine it as me. I have never really wanted to be anyone else not even for a day. I may want their job for a day, but I would want to do it as myself.

So, the picture of a person that I'd love to trade places with for a day is me. :)

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

My most treasure item is my life. Well, mine and my husband's life. What could you do without life?

Day 5: Favorite Memory

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

I  have many memories that I enjoy, heck, you may even call them favorites...but here is my favorite memory thus far...
The day Tyler and I got married...July 7, 2009. :)

Day 4: My Night

Well, I don't know which night I should do. Both were kind of lame and the same. haha. And no, I did not take a picture of us.

   Sunday Night:
We cooked some weird tilapia with pasta, broccoli and some yummy German wine (2009 riesling-hochgewächs).

via site
Then we finished season 3 of The Amazing Race. We're obsessed with that show. We went on our respective computers and then went to bed. haha.

   Tonight, aka Monday Night:
We had delicious steak. Yes, we cooked it ourselves.

via site

Then we started season 4 of The Amazing Race. computers and now it's bed time. (Tyler's already asleep haha). Pretty epic nights huh? :p

Day 3: T.V.!

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

I have many T.V. shows that I enjoy, so I picked out 5 to be my "favorites." If you want to know what other shows I like, feel free to ask. :)

via site
GLEE! No it's not the whole cast, but I really just like this picture. I love this show so much.

via site
Modern Family. Need I say more? Great Show.

via site
The Amazing Race. Tyler and I are obsessed. Love it.

via site
How I Met Your Mother. It really just makes me smile.

via site
Say Yes to the Dress. It's like my guilty pleasure show. I miss being able to watch it at random...silly Germany.

Day 2: People I have been closest with the longest

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

I am close with several people, but these 5 are the ones I've been closest with the longest. Enjoy.

My parents and I on the day I graduated college :)
First,  I'm going to say my mom and dad. They've know me the longest and sometimes even know me better than I know myself. They've also always been supportive of me even though some of the things I do may seem crazy (i.e. getting married at 21, moving to Germany...).

(From Left to Right) My sister, Sarah, my dear friend, Elizabeth, myself and my dear friend Julia at my bridal shower in Texas
Next, would be these 3 ladies in the picture with me. I've know my sister my whole life and somehow she still puts up with me. I've know Elizabeth since I was like 7 or 8 years old and we're still as close as ever. I met Julia in high school and we're still extremely close. None of us went to the same college, and I have not lived in Dallas for about 5 years now, yet we're all still close and I love and miss them dearly.

Day 1: Me :)

I've been seeing this 30 day challenge floating around in the blog world and I thought, why not do this? Why not have people get to know me better? I may not do this everyday, but in 30 posts/days, I guarantee you will know me better. Enjoy!

Day 1: A picture of yourself with ten facts

Ten facts about me...in no particular order...
1. This picture was taken in Rome from the Colosseum looking into the Forum/Venus's Temple.
2. I have slowly been discovering that I am better at doing things for other people than doing things for myself. Like planning parties or events, editing papers, etc. I guess it's just easier to see faults in others rather than yourself huh?
3. I'm a people pleaser. Not really sure how or when it started, it's just who I am, and I've come to accept it. Though, I am working on trying to not be as much of one.
4. I am a creative and opinionated person, even though you may never know it because of my people pleasing (and I guess sometimes that means I'm a pushover too). I have lots of ideas and opinions about things, but sometimes I don't share them or I just don't follow through with what I want to do. Maybe it's out of fear or embarrassment, who knows really. (Working on that too).
5. I am obsessed with weddings and everything about them. It's a problem haha.
6. I love traveling. I'm so excited for this year in Germany because that way Tyler and I can travel all over Europe. So far we've just done several places in Germany and Rome, but more are to come!
7. I married the love of my life :)
8. It's hard for me to pick favorites...I just like so many things! (or I'm indecisive...haha)
9. I have motion sickness. It sucks. I am growing out of it, but get me on a bumpy airplane, car ride or thrill ride (i.e. roller coasters) and oh man, it can be bad news.
10. I love wine.
